Why this directory exists.
Most AI directories are link farms. This one is curated by a single editor who actually teaches — and writes for the three people inside school: teachers, students, and the parents who help them.
I started class6x because I kept getting the same email — sometimes from teachers, sometimes from students, sometimes from a parent: "There are 400 AI tools for school — which one do I actually try this week?" Generic answers weren't cutting it. The Google rabbit hole was eating people's evenings.
So I started keeping a working list. The list became a newsletter. The newsletter became a directory. Today it's the resource I wish I'd had three years ago.
Everything here is hand-picked, hand-reviewed, and tested in real lessons (or real homework sessions) before it gets a write-up. No SEO content factory, no automated affiliate scraping, no "sponsored top picks."
What we believe

If it's not curated by a human who's tried the tool, it's just a list. Lists are a dime a dozen.

We optimize for the question "will this save a real hour for a real teacher, student, or parent?" not for partnership commissions.

Free tier, classroom limit, district pricing, family limits — these are the first things readers want to know, so they're never below the fold.

We re-test every featured tool quarterly and demote anything that has shipped backwards.
